the angry one

is that god you pray to
really that powerful
as you make him to be.

why does he not
break free
from the chain of customs
that you make up
why does he not
step out from the books
you imprison him in
you know the ones
in which you divvy him up
and keep the best for yourself.

why does he not
throw away those garlands of hatred
you so lovingly wrap around him
does he not like to breathe free.

why does he allow himself
to be used by you
to divide
to exclude
to mock
to threaten
to frighten
can he not see through
your nefarious plans.

when was the last time
he smiled like he used to
is it true that he has forgotten
what it means to be happy
with devotees like you
I don’t really blame him.
