running 50

new horizons unfold
new mornings break through
the mist
in the new city
you now call home

the sea
back home
with its ebbs, its flows
its calm and its roar
waits
our adda
back home
with its tea, bun maska
and fading out memories
waits

we wish you well
always
take pride in your victory
and in your journey
we wait for you
to tell us new tales
of lands far away
that picture of snow you sent
that lovely office
to tell us about
life
as you see it now

as you enter your 50th
and running at that
strength, fortune
love, peace
is what we wish for you

to newer memories
safe journey, my friend

(for our most dear friend, Nuts)

A wise man once told me; in life you will make many acquaintances and just about a handful of friends.

grateful to life, that you are in that handful.
